Solar Panels installed as part of low carbon efforts at M-Tech Engineering

M-Tech Engineering continues to invest in an environmentally friendly future, following the installation of solar panels to the roof of its facility. This joins a number of other energy efficient technologies already being used throughout the company.

Installation of solar panels begins

M-Tech operates from a new factory, purpose built to support its bespoke manufacturing and engineering activities. It allows the use of industry leading machinery such as a laser cutter, press brake and large overhead crane.

What does M-Tech Engineering do to be energy efficient?

Our workshop is busy every day, using a lot of energy. The newly installed solar panels will help to generate a lot of the power we need and send electricity back to the grid over the weekends.

There is also passive LED lighting throughout the workshop and office, activated with sensors so they are only used when needed. This sustainable approach means that we can use less carbon and cut back on energy costs.

Further to this, we recycle all recyclable general waste and scrap metal wherever possible. When our plotter runs out of paper, we donate the cardboard tubes to a local nursery for arts and crafts or play! We take all sawdust created by our in-house joinery department and compact it into pellets. This creates a 100% air dried solid fuel for use in wood burners.
