Cossall Stairs Bespoke Staircase

M-Tech Engineering was delighted to work once again with a long-standing property developer client on this striking residential project at Cossall Road. Having collaborated successfully in the past, the client trusted us to design and build a set of bespoke staircases that combined structural precision with a refined, modern aesthetic.

The Brief

The project required multiple stair solutions within the property:

✔️ A staircase from ground floor down to the basement games room

✔️ Two separate cantilever stair flights rising to the second floor

The client wanted a clean, contemporary look that would complement high-end interior finishes, while still being robust and practical for a busy home.

Our Solution

All stair carcasses were fabricated from mild steel, providing a strong and reliable structural core. For the cantilever staircases, we incorporated laminated toughened glass, creating a light, floating appearance that enhances the sense of space.

The glass was finished with powder-coated cladding to the glass channels, along with a powder-coated capping rail to the raked glass. These details not only add visual sharpness but also ensure durability and a high-quality finish that will stand the test of time.

Working in Partnership

A key aspect of this project was close coordination with the client, who supplied their own stone treads. This required careful planning and precise fabrication to ensure the stone could be fitted seamlessly after the steel stair structure and glass balustrades were installed.

By working closely with the client and their suppliers, we ensured everything aligned perfectly, resulting in a smooth installation process and a flawless final result.
