Teasdale Motorcycles

Teasdale Motorcycles needed a bespoke commercial staircase that could do more than just connect two levels. Positioned in the heart of a busy showroom, it had to handle constant foot traffic while reinforcing the premium feel of the space.

The goal was clear: create a staircase that felt like a feature, not an afterthought, without exceeding budget.

The Challenge

Designing a bespoke commercial staircase for a retail environment comes with a unique set of pressures:

Balancing cost and design intent: The initial concept included a brass handrail inspired by high-end retail interiors, but this pushed the project beyond budget

Durability under heavy use: The staircase needed to withstand daily customer traffic without compromising safety or performance

Visual impact: Surrounded by high-end motorcycles, the staircase had to elevate the space rather than blend into the background

Low maintenance: Materials had to retain their appearance over time without requiring excessive upkeep

Our Approach

M-Tech Engineering focused on delivering a bespoke commercial staircase that met both the aesthetic and practical needs of the client through smart value engineering.

The brass handrail was replaced with stainless steel, maintaining a clean, modern look while significantly reducing cost and long-term maintenance.

The final design combined strength, precision, and visual appeal:

→ PFC stringers for a robust structural framework

→ Laser-cut 15mm steel spindles to create a crisp, architectural finish

→ Stainless steel handrails for durability and a refined appearance

→ Oak treads to introduce warmth and contrast against the steel

The Result

The completed bespoke commercial staircase delivers on every level. It’s strong enough for continuous use, visually aligned with the premium showroom environment, and designed to age well with minimal maintenance.

Rather than overpowering the space, it complements it, acting as a subtle centrepiece that guides customers through the showroom.
